IMPRINT
Learning how to deal with transition, build your own brand, and stablish your network was the underlying scope I learned from Imprint. When you think about your future, whether because you are leaving school, a job, or some change is approaching to your life, lot of thoughts come to your mind. And it is basically because, as humans, we react to change in different ways. So, how is that we react to the transition period between college and professional life? I learned that, although this period could be complicated, there are ways to approach it correctly, like the case of the elephant and the rider. Setting realistic goals helps to achieve bigger objectives. The idea is to build them steadily. To accomplish it, you must be able to find the motivation that enables the completion that your future goals. That said, you must connect your goals to your emotions and feelings, so that the motivation will flow naturally. In addition, you must create the path that facilitates the completion of your goals, so that the journey to explore your objectives during your transition will be smooth and enjoyable enough.

Once the transition is achieved, we must start building our personal brand. It entails a recognition process where we identify our personal mirror and focus on what we are (our strengths and abilities), and how we want others look at us. Achieving this stage is strategic in terms of professional development, because it is the beginning of our future Me, either at the personal and professional scenarios. Personally, I would like to be recognized as a passionate, innovator, enthusiastic, emphatic, insightful, responsible, risk taker, and outstanding professional and person. With this milestone achieved, it is moment to start building our network. And it will be built as long as it begins by connecting our closest actors, such as classmates, peers, team members, fellows. All networks start simple connections, and the time to work on these is now.

Imprint provided me lot of new perspectives, and that’s for sure that I already set the goal to stablish my personal brand, and enhance my current network to improve my personal and professional development: "Abel R. Vera".
